 Roy Kent. We have been enjoying Ted Lasso. Although it is about the fortunes (or lack of), of the Richmond Greyhounds’ exploits in the Premier League, we find ourselves in a comedy focused on the characters and their relationships in contrast to the two dimensional football professionals portrayed by the sports media. I am particularly enjoying the character Roy Kent (played by Brett Goldstein), a retired Richmond Professional with attitude who is now on the Richmond coaching staff.  Piet Hein Illustration. When we were teenagers my father upgraded the family sailing boat and christened it Piet Hein to honour his Dutch seafaring heritage, complete with orange spinnaker. But who was Piet Hein? Piet Pieterszoon Hein (25 November 1577 – 18 June 1629) was a Dutch admiral and privateer for the Dutch Republic during the Eighty Years' War. Hein was the first and the last to capture a large part of a Spanish treasure fleet which transported huge amounts of gold and silver from Spanish America to Spain.
